Overview

Avalon Pharmaceuticals is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of first-in-class cancer therapeutics. Our lead product candidate, AVN944, an IMPDH inhibitor, is in Phase II clinical development. Late stage preclinical programs include inhibitors of the Beta-catenin and PLK3 (Aurora/Centrosome) pathways, and discovery programs for inhibitors of the Survivin and Myc pathways. We have partnerships with Merck, AstraZeneca/MedImmune, ChemDiv, Medarex, and Novartis which utilize our proprietary drug discovery and development platform, AvalonRx®. AvalonRx® is based on large-scale biomarker identification and monitoring to discover and develop therapeutics for pathways that have historically been characterized as "undruggable."
