Pipeline

AVN944, our novel lead product targeting Inosine Monophophospate Dehydrogenase (IMPDH), is progressing well in a large Phase I clinical trial for the treatment of hematological malignancies and a Phase II trial for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. We expect to initiate Phase II trials for the use of AVN944 in hematological malignancies in 2008. Our other product development programs have the potential to produce first-in-class drugs by taking advantage of the unique ability of AvalonRx® to address interesting, but previously "undruggable" cancer targets. Our pipeline programs include inhibitors of the Beta-catenin, Aurora/Centrosome, Myc and Survivin pathways — all of which contain promising, well-validated, but previously undruggable cancer targets.
